How to Find the Right Store To Purchase Contact Lenses From

Contact lenses are one of the most important purchases a person can make. This is because the contact lenses affect their vision, a sense of the body that is vital for normal, everyday activities. Contact lenses that aren’t the right prescription will not only be ineffective at correcting common visual problems, but may even cause damage to the eye. This is why it is essential that when a person is ready to purchase contact lenses, they buy from the right supplier.

The first area of concern when it comes to buying contact lenses is the prescription. A person should have a current prescription from their optometrist before buying their contact lenses. It is optimal if they can buy the lenses from their optometrist directly, but if not they can go to a pharmacy or go online. If they go online it is imperative they buy from sites that will only sell if they have evidence of a prescription. Sites that don’t request a prescription before purchase are actually breaking the law, since it is illegal to sell non-prescriptive contacts.

A second area of concern in regards to purchase of contact lenses is whether or not the store one decides to buy from even offers corrective lenses. On the surface such a concern may seem silly but if one is into buying novelty contact lenses it really isn’t. This is because many novelty contacts are plano, meaning they are for decorative purposes only. If they do offer vision correction, it isn’t as elaborate as those found in clear contact lenses. This is why a person should find out before spending any money if the lenses they plan on investing in will fully take care of their vision problems.

A third area of concern for purchasing contact lenses is a store’s refund or exchange policy. Granted, a refund or exchange policy won’t affect one’s eyes in any way, but it does help ensure that money isn’t wasted in case the wrong type of lenses was sent out. Naturally, most stores won’t refund or exchange lenses that are used but they will offer refunds or exchanges for unopened boxes.

When one is ready to purchase contact lenses they should make sure the store they’re buying from: accepts a prescription, sells corrective lenses and offers a refund or exchange policy if the wrong shipment is sent out. Other, more common-sense things people should consider before making a purchase for contact lenses is the reviews a store has received from other customers. This can be found through an Internet search or by searching the Better Business Bureau website. If a store has a lot of complaints against it, it becomes obvious it is not the place to purchase contact lenses from. Conversely, if they receive a lot of positive feedback, then it is a clear indication that they are the place where the contact lens purchase should be made.
