|
When you order a pair of contacts for the first time you may not realize that you also need to purchase contact lens cleaner as well. When contact lenses are not cleaned properly they can start to develop a film that will cover the entire lens and affect the way that you see when you wear them. Another important reason to clean contact lenses is because it decreases the chance of an eye infection. When you wear contacts day after day, they may develop microorganisms that include bacteria or fungi. These usually develop on the lens surface. After applying the contaminated contact to the eye you may develop an eye infection that will need to be treated by a doctor. During the time of treatment you may not be able to wear contacts in the affected eye.
Each one of the contact lens cleaner does something different in order to clean the contact lens to make vision clear, prevent eye infections and irritation. In order to extend the life of a contact lens, always follow the doctor’s orders on how to clean your contacts. Some of the contact lenses, like the disposable lenses, do not require some of the cleaning products. After a certain amount of time when the lens has been worn you can throw the contacts away and open up another pair. Although this may sound convenient it also costs more money. Ask your doctor if the disposable contacts are right for you. Otherwise, you need to ask what type of contact lens cleaner you will need to buy for yours. Contact lenses are important in order to make your vision clear. You don’t want to take any chances of losing your contacts by not cleaning them properly. Always remember to wash your hands before and after cleaning, inserting and removing your contacts. |
