|
Bausch & Lomb is one of the most successful contact lens manufacturers in the United States. In existence since 1853, Bausch and Lomb has created superior vision products, though it didn’t start creating contact lenses until 1971. Today, the company continues to lead the way when it comes to contact lens technology. Bausch and Lomb provides contact lenses for many common visual problems. Correcting common visual aliments like: Bausch and Lomb also offers contacts that provide a form of vision therapy for its wearers. These are known as their ‘therapeutic’ line. These lenses are specially designed to help provide vision for the injured eye. Outdoor Contact Lenses There are also Bausch and Lomb’s sports-tinted line of contacts, designed to help filter out sunlight making things easier to see while a person is outdoors. Each of Bausch and Lomb contacts are available in soft or gas permeable form, with the soft being disposable and the gas permeable being non-disposable. If one chooses to get soft contacts, there are different lengths of time they can be worn. Some brands, such as the SofLens One Day, are to be disposed of after only one day of use. Other brands, such as the SofLens Toric or the SofLens 38 can be worn during the day for one to two weeks. When this time period is up, they are to be disposed and replaced with another set. Bausch and Lomb’s Pure Vision contact lenses are considered ‘extended wear’ and can be worn day and night for a period of up to 30 days. This is extremely convenient for individuals who do not like having to put in lenses on a daily basis, but when it comes to eye health the one day or one to two week contact lenses might be a better choice. To buy a pair of Bausch and Lomb contact lenses, one will have to make an appointment with their optometrist to obtain a current prescription. Once a person’s eyes have been examined, the optometrist will issue a prescription which will allow them to buy Bausch and Lomb contact lenses wherever they want. The most convenient places are through online stores. It is very important, however, that when it comes time to order the Bausch and Lomb contact lenses, that a person enters in the prescription information exactly as it says. If one gives incorrect prescription information to an online store, whether it’s a stronger prescription, (a prescription that offers more corrective power than necessary), or a weaker prescription, (a prescription offering less corrective power), the Bausch and Lomb contact lenses that would be shipped out would not be effective. To prevent any misreading, a person should make sure to look over their prescription before they leave the optometrist’s office. If it is not written clearly, they should ask the optometrist to fix it. |
