3 Tips on Getting Free Contact Lenses

Most people are very excited at the thought of being able to try a product for free before buying it. Companies know this which is why they take elaborate steps ensuring that their customers do get a chance to get a free sample of their product. However, a lot of people may not be aware that even contact lens manufacturers offer free contact lenses. This is because they understand that even contact lenses should be tried on before further investment is made. Customers are more likely to buy contact lenses if, after trying the free contact lenses, they find they work perfectly for their eyes.

The most common way companies give out free contacts are through special certificates. These certificates can be printed off of the Internet or mailed out. To obtain the certificate, a person usually has to fill out a form providing general demographic information. They may have to answer some survey questions and view advertisements. The whole process may take a few minutes, but considering that a person is getting a free box of contacts it is well worth it. When the person obtains their certificate, they take it to their optometrist who will provide the free sample.

Another way companies give out free contacts is by shipping them directly. Most will ask for prescription information, though there are some that don’t. Be leery of the latter, since wearing non-prescriptive contacts, even those that are from a free sample can cause irreversible damage to one’s eyesight. If a ‘company’ does not ask for a prescription, it could be a phishing scam from an individual putting up a fake website. There are exceptions to the rule, but even for the exceptions it still isn’t worth the risk. Never, under any circumstances, wear lenses without a prescription.

The third way companies give out free contacts are through sweepstakes contests. This does not guarantee one will receive the contacts, but it can still be fun to participate. Just like other methods, a person would have to fill out a form and possibly answer survey questions. Their names are then entered into a drawing. If they win they will receive their contacts, if they can provide a current prescription.

Companies send out free contact lenses through: certificates, direct shipment and sweepstakes. Direct shipment is the most convenient way of getting free contacts lenses, but certificates seem to be the most common method. Sweepstakes offer no guarantees for free contact lenses, but if a person does win, more than likely they will receive a bigger amount of free contact lenses to try.

All of these methods will require a small sacrifice of time, as a person would have to fill out some forms and answer survey questions. This could be considered the ‘cost’ one would have to pay. It is still tremendously better than having to fork over hard-earned cash for lenses that may not even work well with one’s eyes.
